Jewellery by Leon

Leon Parry an Award Winning Jewellery Designer, he has been a manufacturing jeweller for more than 30 years. He started as an apprentice at Hardy Brothers in Melbourne, where he spent 10 years. Then he moved to Tasmania for several years and later settled in Townsville spending 14 years there as a manufacturing jeweller. Leon and his family made a life change in 2008, moving to the small outback town of Winton in Western Queensland. Smitten with the local gemstone Leon soon acquired his own Boulder Opal mine, where he loves to take refuge, relax and be inspired.
Leon has worked with all types of gemstones during his career and still does to this day. However his favourite gem is Queensland Boulder Opal. Every opal is different, no two are the same and they come in a variety of shapes and sizes. This allows Leon a great deal of design scope, therefore allowing him to create some very unique pieces.
Leon is an old school craftsman who prefers to hand make his pieces, investing time in a piece of jewellery ensures the end result is exactly what he is looking for and more importantly the customer receives a well designed and crafted article.
He is well known throughout the jewellery industry, being a regular finalist in the Australasian Jewellery Design Awards and in 2010 was the winner of the Opal Category. These days he concentrates on providing quality jewellery to his clients from Australia and overseas and mining his own boulder opals from his mining claim.
